I want to renovate our inherited garden and to keep costs down we're going to try and do most of it ourselves. The problem is there are concrete paving slabs that need to come up, (a lot of them are loose anyway). They're part of a decking, (from our back door there are seven levels, all paved), to the grass area. The aim is to get everything to the grass level. The paved squares are very heavy but I'm not sure whether to keep them. Are they worth keeping for any future project or are they cheap enough to make or buy so it's best to throw them out? What about the hardcore and the sand underneath, are they worth holding on to?
This would be our very first attempt at doing something as big as this and we don't really know what we're doing so we're going to rely on books and the internet. Thanks for any help.
