is the REAL and dangerous threat to western culture and its freedoms [of speech and expression] and democracy?
ie: in spite of the jihadists terrorist actions, they can cause us nothing more than isolated but very violent disturbances, and even if they were to be scaled up, the west has nothing to fear [militarily and technologically] for the forsee-able future.............but its the insidious creeping bit-by-bit islamization [see below] that political correctness helps to shield from criticism....that might might pave the way for [at first] a limited accomodation of sharia, then as the paralel legal system becomes normalised and encroaches on more areas of life and the immigrant muslim community continues to grow in size, the genuine possibilty of demands for it first, to have equal status, and then finally be implementated as the law of the land.
if the majority culture keeps making allowances and exceptions for muslims, partly due to political correctness, partly out of fear of causing offence, and partly out of fear of the possibilty of being labled racist or islamophobic, and starts to give ground to peoples demands because of a climate of intimidation and fear of actual threats of violence, that all too many europeans and americans [esp. writers] have been subjected to simply for criticising aspects of islam [-look up the numbers of people who currently need (& get) police protection from death threats from the followers of "the religion of peace" in europe].....then there is every possibility that our grandchildren will inherit a country with an immeasurably shrunken range of freedoms and possibilities than the one we grew up in, and maybe one in which, merely because of religious affiliation, they are treated as second class by the law of the land.

sharia compliant finance
prayer rooms
blasphemy laws
halal foods in schools etc
muezzin exempt from noise abatement laws
halal slaughter, exempt from normal animal cruelty laws
exceptions in dress code - masking the face [worryingly at airports etc]
segregation of sexes swimming pools
eclusion of dogs/refusal to handle pork [retail]
faith schools
respect/adherance/accomodation of ramadan by Non-muslims
etc
etc
all these [and many more] seek to replicate their homeland culture, exempt them from integrating into ours, and if their birth-rates remain well above the wider culture, will inevitably lead to growing pressure and demands for further concessions, and lead to the proliferation of their - not our, cultural norms.
