have got a border full of various plants and shrubs, garden is too big, and I want to make it more maintainable, so I'm going to dig it up, and put down a membrane, with bark chippings on top, plus probably a couple of small trees in it.
Anyway, this border runs beside my drive, which is full of gravel chips. The border is slightly higher than the drive. There is a small border of big stones just now, but it's not continuous, and wouldn't contain the bark.
An added complication is that the drive is on a slope, so any border would have to cope with the slope.
Think my obvious choice just now is a log border - I like the look of a wee strip of block paving or something, but don't think it would be high enough to retain the bark. Plus, because of the slope, think it might look quite uneven.
So anyone got any other ideas for this? (preferably that would be easy enough for me to do myself!)
Thanks
