A rectangular patio has a circular pond in the middle. The width of the patio is 4m and the length of it is 2.5m. The diameter of the pond is 150cm. Find the area of the paved part of the patio (the rest of the patio, without the pond!).

Jane is making lavender bags for the school fayre. She uses a circle of linen of diameter 20cm for each bag. Jane starts with a rectangular piece of linen 240cm by 98cm.
a) What is the maximum number of circles that she can cut out?
b) What percentage of linen will she waste?
